    Questions

    What resolution should I pick?

72 DPI for the web or email, 150 DPI as a solid default, and 300 DPI when the image will be printed. Higher DPI means a sharper but much larger image.

Can I extract only some pages?

Yes — put a range in the Pages box, such as 1-3, 7, 10-12. Leave it empty to convert the whole document.

Does this pull out the original embedded photos?

No. It renders each page as it appears, which is what people usually want, so a page image includes the text and graphics on that page too.

    JPG or PNG?

JPG for photos and scans — much smaller files. PNG for pages of text, line art or screenshots, where lossless edges look noticeably crisper.
